چکیده
Innovation is key to delivering deep cuts in carbon emissions, whilst protecting and enhancing our national competitiveness. The Carbon Trust is charged with the goal of helping UK industry to deliver on this challenge. Although our prime focus is upon implementing our two main funding programmes, the Low Carbon Innovation Programme, and the Action Energy programme on technology diffusion, the strategic goal cannot be delivered by such funding programmes alone. Government policy has a huge impact upon the willingness of and potential for private capital to invest in innovative solutions, and government action will be decisive in addressing key barriers.
